God's 'Lil Angel

My beloved "Silk": God has taken you to be with his angels at the Rainbow Bridge. Although my world has grown darker without you, you remain in the brightest light of all......God's light.

I knew that losing You would be painful, but I never imagined the extent of the emptiness, loneliness, and heartache that would accompany the pain of losing you.

Grandma "Nikki" trusted me with your life, and I tried to give you whatever you needed and wanted. I will be forever grateful to Grandma "Nikki" for allowing you to share my life. You have enriched my life in so many ways baby girl. You opened the door to friendships that I would have otherwise not had.

In July of 1994, You earned your AKC "Companion Dog" title. I was the proudest fur-Mom around. You even made me laugh on the fourth day, when you began chasing a roach across the obedience ring. Although your conformation career didn't last long, You were the most beautiful Dobergirl in the world to me.

In February of 2003 You were my brave girl. You endured a life threatening Deramaxx Reaction. Remember when I would visit you, and told you how much I loved you. I asked you for a tremendous favor during that time. I asked you to survive the pain and suffering so that we could be together, because I didn't know if my life would go on without you. God answered my prayers and gave us a little more time together.

On June 27, 2004 at 7:16 am, I now know what woke me in such a frenzy.

There were only a few things that would wake me from a sleep, and that was the front door being opened, the sound of your foot steps and the wet nose kisses that you loved to give me early in the morning. I heard the sound that your toes nails make when you would slip off of the rugs onto the tile. I awakened suddenly, looked at you laying down and ran to the bedroom to see what had happened. When I turned to return to the living room, I saw that you had passed away. It was as if someone had pulled my heart from my chest. My first words to you were that I didn't get to tell you good-bye. God didn't allow me to tell you good-bye because he knows that we will be together again one day.

July 19, 2004:
Happy Eleventh Birthday Sweet Girl!

My Heart Will Go On
Celine Dion

Every night in my dreams
I see you, I feel you
That is how I know you go on.

Far across the distance
And spaces between us
You have come to show you go on.

Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more, you opened the door
And you're here in my heart,
And my heart will go on and on.

Love can touch us one time
And last for a lifetime
And never let go till we're gone.

Love was when I loved you,
One true time to hold on to
In my life we'll always go on.

You're here, there's nothing I fear
And I know that my heart will go on.
We'll stay, forever this way
You are safe in my heart
And my heart will go on and on.

Sleep well God's 'Lil Angel, I will again see you one day and that will be the happiest day of my life!!!

God's 'Lil Angel ~ Silk
Poem Written By: Paul C. Dahm

There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth. It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colors. Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows, hills, and valleys with lush green grass.

When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place. There is always food and water and warm spring weather. The old and frail animals are young again. Those who are maimed are made whole again. They play all day with each other.

There is only one thing missing. They are not with their special person who loved them on Earth. So, each day they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up! The nose twitches! The ears are up! The eyes are staring! And this one suddenly runs from the group!

You have been seen, and when you and your special friend meet, you take him or her in your arms and embrace. Your face is kissed again and again and again and you look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet.

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated.
